* When I started my blog I began from when Kirk and I got married and told the story of how God has brought us to where we are. If you go back to the beginning of my blog you will see how God’s hand has guided us through good and bad times. I also share in my blog how God brought my family through my battle with breast cancer. To God be the Glory!
Moving to Ohio
The one thing that Kirk and I were concerned about going back into the role of Senior Pastor and where God might send us was, “How will our kids adjust?” Bradley is 13 years old and Lauren is 11 years old and at their ages we did not want this to be a bad experience for them. We told the kids that God is stirring something within us and we felt that He was calling us to be Pastors again. Brad’s first response when he found out we were going to Ohio to interview was “Is this a dead church or is it alive and have potential to grow?” Yes, he thinks like his dad
Lauren’s response was “what do the people talk like?” Having a friend from the north she wanted to know if she would fit in with her southern accent
When we flew to Ohio for the interview, I really wanted the kids to go and see the town to get a feel instead of me and Kirk saying this is where we are going…….trust us. We kept reminding the kids we are going to see if this is God’s will because we always prayed for God to open the doors he wanted us to walk through and close the doors that was not for us. Meeting several people while interviewing in Ohio and site seeing, we felt like this could be the place.
The kids met the 12 elders that interviewed us then they waited in a separate room while Kirk and I answered questions and asked questions. When we left the interview the kids asked, “so, what do you think?” Kirk said, “we told the elders we were going to pray about it.” Lauren said, “Okay, not being disrespectful but taking God out of this, what is your gut telling you?” Kirk said, “maybe?” and then Kirk asked the kids, “What do you think?” And Bradley said, “I think this would be a place that God would send us.” Lauren also agreed. It was a sigh of relief knowing that God was not only preparing Kirk and me, but answered our prayers and was preparing our kids hearts to what was ahead. As parents we were trusting God to take care of our children no only preparing their hearts but also to go before us and prepare the friends and guide us to the right school that they would attend. I just want to stop at this point and let you know that God cares about every little detail…..for me, as a mom, it was a BIG detail but God answered our prayers!!!! THANK YOU GOD!

Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
