You hear stories about how different Middle School will be and if you are like Kirk and I were you tried to prepare yourself and your child for what is ahead. Elementary is a breeze after a few weeks in Middle School. Elementary: if you forget your homework you can turn it in when you get to it, if you had homework it only took less than an hour, you don’t have to remember to take books to class because you only have one or two teachers. We came from Elementary where the teacher does everything for the child to a school where the teacher wants them to be responsible and do it themselves. Where is the transition time? Oh my, I was in total shock and we are still adjusting but my thought about that is there were people before us and they survived this part of life and we will too. Brad is not the most organized person so we have to work extra hard. The good thing is we can check the teacher’s blog to see what they did that day and homework the students have. We make sure Brad gets his homework done but that does not mean he turns it in. I don’t know what else to do but go to school and hold his hand to turn it in for him. The locker does not help us although he loves it. He forgets things for his classes in it all the time and therefore points are taken off for not being prepared. I tell him to think ahead but Brad is not geared that way. That is just his personality. Brad is very smart and has all A’s in his classes except Advanced Math. They have a new program this year called “Pinnacle” where you can go and view your child’s grades online and it let you know what assignments are missing. This class is the one he always has homework in and takes us a while to do. One night he had 46 problems to solve. We are trying to decide if he should continue this class or with his football schedule take him out. It will get better and we will have more time once football season is over in a couple of months. It has got too.
He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed.
