Tuesday, August 20, 2009, was the day of our band meeting at 6:00 p.m. since Brad had football from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Kirk took him and Lauren and I went to the band meeting. Once we finished we stayed to meet Brad’s teachers. It was really nice how you go to your child’s homeroom class and they give you your child’s schedule and you visit those classes when the bell rings you change classes. The teachers had a few minutes to share with the parents and help us know what to expect from their class. Thank you God for good teachers this year!
The people brought children to Jesus, hoping he might touch them. The disciples shooed them off. But Jesus was irate and let them know it: “Don’t push these children away. Don’t ever get between them and me. These children are at the very center of life in the kingdom. Mark this: Unless you accept God’s kingdom in the simplicity of a child, you’ll never get in.” Then, gathering the children up in his arms, he laid his hands of blessing on them.
