Kirk then was offered a promotion to be city manager for Enterprise Rent-A-Car and we moved to Tallahassee, FL. We lived in Tallahassee for a year and attended Tallahassee Church of God. I was a receptionist and worked in medical records for a neurologist. It was an interesting journey working in this office. I know God placed me there to help me become a stronger person and to stand up for myself in the real world. I would come home many nights with migraine headaches from stress. I would go in my bedroom and turn the lights off and curl up in a ball and pray for relief.

The people that I worked with in this office were not the easiest people to get along with, used terrible language, and were very loud. I never once asked them not to use their bad language around me but this one guy noticed that I didn’t handle situations quite like they did, and one day asked if I was a Christian. Little by little he began to ask me questions about Jesus. I was not in his face telling him about Jesus everyday but he saw something was different in me and would come to me for answers and asked me to pray for situations he was facing. They started apologizing when they would say curse words around me and made an effort not to say it around me. It was a very difficult time but I know God used me to be a witness for Him during that time. I learned so much and I am not the shy person that I used to be. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:10
