Do you run around trying to find the right Christmas gift for friends and family?  Is this time of the year stressful or do you look forward to it?  I look forward to it because it is a time to remember the Birth of Jesus!  We make it stressful sometimes though!  Waiting for that last minute bonus check to pay for the last minute gifts.  Kirk and I have done the same thing and it is very stressful.  For the last few years we made an agreement with both sides of the family that gifts for the adults were not necessary and we would just buy for the kids.  Years before we would draw names in the family and set a price limit and say don’t spend no more than this amount.  Doesn’t it just even out and why not just go buy yourself what you really want and save all the madness and stress.  Everyone has their own opinions about Christmas and I’m not saying this is right or wrong but I think if we focus less on what we are going to buy everyone and focus on what Christmas really means, the birth of Jesus Christ then we could really simplify ours lives a little bit.  When I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006 I began to look at things differently.  My life actually flashed before my eyes and it made me realize that some things are not that important and time with my family was VERY important.  So time I get to spend with my immediate and extended family is very precious to me and yes I love to take pictures and hold on to all the memories.  One way I communicate being so far from my parents and Kirk’s parents is by posting pictures and posting what I am doing during the day on Facebook so they will know what is going on with their grandkids.  Concentrate on the important things and let go of the things that really don’t matter.  It will help make your life a whole lot simpler.  I LOVE MY FAMILY!
