Do You Feel Unsettled ?
* When I started my blog I began from when Kirk and I got married and told the story of how God has brought us to where we are. If you go back to the beginning of my blog you will see how God’s hand has guided us through good and bad times. I also share in my blog how God brought my family through my battle with breast cancer. To God be the Glory!
Do you feel unsettled with where you are in LIFE? Well about a year ago Kirk and I were feeling that God was leading us in a different direction. Some of you might ask, “what do you mean by that?” We felt unsettled in what we were doing. I didn’t say unhappy, no one had treated us wrong or was asking us to leave. We felt that God had more for us and to be fulfilled in ministry we began to pray for God to open the doors He wanted us to walk through and close the doors that were not for us. When we began praying it was a year later until we saw any direction as to what the next step would be for us. I am not saying that God always takes that long to work, sometimes it is instantly and sometimes we have to wait. The waiting part is not always easy. We did not know what God was doing in the background, making a way for us. Although we wanted things done right away…..His way was the better way! God’s perfect timing! He works on the details when we have no clue what is going on.
I truly believe God teaches us while we wait. Actually, I know by experience He does. In our minds we have it all figured out on how God should make things happen for us. And all the time He is probably looking down at us shaking His head saying there they go again trying to do My job but we continue to try to figure things on our own. Kirk and I knew we were going to Pastor again and my idea that I thought was perfect for us was to be closer to our family and do ministry. Well God had another plan and taught me that He had other plans for my family and me. Am I upset, no because I know that if this is where God wants us then we will be full of joy and in the center of God’s will.
Scripture:
They that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings as eagles;
they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31
