Our son Bradley had some medical problems before Christmas 2005—it was a mysterious problem. He would have a tingling sensation in the palm of his hand and the tips of his fingers would be numb. The doctors couldn’t figure it out. They ran test after test after test. Thank God he is fine now, but at that time we didn’t know anything. Turns out our insurance was great for just doctor visits but it wasn’t so hot when it came to all of these tests. We had some bills that were piling up we needed to get them paid off.
There was an opportunity that came up for me to work in a small store in the mall during the Christmas season. I hadn’t worked in a while and I told Kirk that I wanted to take the job for the extra money. More than that—I wanted to get my mind off of what God might be transitioning in our lives.
