Kirk felt that God was calling him to be a Pastor in June of 2000. He then led a Mission Trip to Nicaragua in September of 2000 and while he was on this trip God spoke to his heart, “I want you to go home to Mississippi”—not knowing that in 2001(Lauren was almost one year old and Bradley was three years old) we would move to Madison, MS a suburb of Jackson, MS to become Senior Pastor at Cobblestone Church of God.

The first three weeks we lived with Kirk’s parents until our house was finished being built. They lived in Brandon, MS, which was about twenty minutes from the church. It was a blessing because we were trying to sell our house in Mobile, AL. At that time Kirk’s parents were pastoring at Brandon Church of God until they went to be the Evangelism Director for the State of Mississippi in 2002. (Kirk’s parents moved to Jackson, MS which was still twenty minutes from us). We were still close to family. My parents were still about two hours away also. Lauren and Bradley love spending time with their grandparents.

We arrived at this church and grew to love the people. We were growing spiritually and in numbers. When we arrived at Cobblestone the church had around 50 to 60 people in attendance. God blessed the church and it grew to around 200 people. Kirk and I loved meeting new people. Our children were in great schools and loved it. We were very comfortable and things were going great.

Bradley played baseball and soccer. Lauren was taking ballet. (I think she took it for the costume) We thought she enjoyed it until she came home one day from ballet practice and told me she didn’t like to stretch. Anyway they were very involved with activities. Cobblestone had a day school program that Bradley and Lauren attended before they attended Madison Avenue School.

Kirk and I worked together as a team and allowed God to use us to reach others.
