LOSING A LOVED ONE June 9, 2010

Saturday, October 10, 2009, I began to feel really sick that afternoon and went to bed very early. Kirk came in the bedroom and told me that my Dad was on the phone.  I knew that it could not be good news because Kirk would not have disturbed me. My dad told me that my mom’s brother passed away.  I knew that I was sick and there was no way that I could travel to Mississippi to be with my family during this tough time.

Sunday, October 11, 2009, I was in the bed all day very sick but my heart and prayers were with my family.  I prayed for strength, comfort and peace for each of them!

Death…..this is one area of LIFE that I truly do not understand but that is when I have to trust God even more.  It is never easy to lose someone that you love. If it is sudden or even if you try to prepare yourself for someone that had been sick for a long time, it is never easy to say goodbye.  Your heart is broken and you are emotionally and physically drained.  You don’t have much time to deal with the emotions because you are trying to schedule everything and make sure the funeral is perfect because you loved that person so much.  You see so many people and really don’t have time to deal with your emotions.  After the funeral when everyone is gone and the cards stop coming in the mail, then that is really when you seem to need someone to be there for you.  I am so glad that God is so many different things to us. He is our Strength.  He is our Peace.  He is our Comforter.  He is there every moment we need Him.  He is our everything!

My prayer for you who are reading my blog, that if you are struggling with the loss of a loved one or know that a loved one is not going to make it much longer, my prayer is that you will look to God for your strength, comfort and peace to help you through this hard time in your life.  He is our everything! He will never leave you!

SCRIPTURE: The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace.
Psalm 29:11

If you are new to my blog please go back to the beginning to understand each day of my blog.  It begins when Kirk and I were married and tells each move and how God used us and was always preparing us for the next phase of LIFE! I also share about my battle with Breast Cancer. May God Bless You in Your walk in this LIFE!!!!!
