My Sister’s visit to Atlanta 2009 August 26, 2009

My sister (Sherry) and her two kids (Hannah & Conner) came to visit in 2006 during my Breast Cancer Surgery which I don’t remember much of that visit and my brother-in-law, Sparkey (real name Greg), had never been to visit us in Atlanta, Ga.  July 13th – 18th my sister and her family came to spend their vacation in Atlanta, GA.  We had a week of fun!

They arrived Monday, July 13th and the week begins!

Tuesday
– I made a hair appointment for Sherry this morning and Sparkey took the kids to Monkey Joes’ (indoor inflatables).  After her hair appointment we met Sparkey and the kids at Monkey Joes’ and took them back home to swim that afternoon.  Tuesday afternoon, some friends came to join us for the week – Ricky, Tammy, Ali, Jared, and their cousin Paige.  We went out to eat at O’Charley’s Tuesday evening with everybody.

Wednesday
- We were planning to sleep in but the kids got up at 6:30 a.m. and go outside to play hide-n-go seek around 8:00 a.m. without letting us know.   Brad bangs his knee and the kids run to get Kirk. Brad was screaming so loud our neighbor came outside to see what was going on. Kirk carried Brad to the house and iced his knee that was becoming a huge bruise very quickly.  We went to Steak-N-Shake then to the Georgia Aquarium.  Well the one thing I told them before we left was we do not want to leave the Aquarium around 5:00 p.m.  Guess what time we left the Aquarium?  Yep, 5:00 p.m. they really experienced Atlanta traffic at this time.

Thursday – went to Longhorn steakhouse for lunch came home to make blueberry cobbler for my guests. Took the kids swimming then went to Stone Mountain that afternoon and stayed for the laser show.  It was my first time at Stone Mountain and I really enjoyed it.

Friday
– We got up early and made a picnic lunch and headed to White Water.  While we were eating our picnic lunch, Bradley and Jared (they are both 11 years old)  talked Hannah my niece age 8 and Lauren my daughter age 9 into going down the 5 story high water slide called “The Cliffhanger”.  I was going to wait at the bottom but thought if they can do it so can I.  I don’t know what I was thinking.  We got to the top and Kirk, Brad, Jared went down and then I talked the girls into going down and there I stood.  I told the lady I didn’t know if I could do it.  Everyone at the top was cheering me on and boy did I feel the pressure.  It was something that I can say I did but do not have a desire to ever do it again.  White Water is one of my favorite places to go.  We were there until that afternoon.  We took it easy the rest of the evening.  I packed the kids clothes because they were leaving with my sister and friends back to Waynesboro, MS where my Mom and Day live.  It was time for the kids to spend a few days with their Grandparents.

Saturday morning – Kids went home with Sherry & Sparkey and friends.  The kids were excited to go get spoiled at their Grandparents house for a few days.

If you are new to my blog please go back to the beginning to understand each day of my blog.  It begins when Kirk and I were married and tells each move and how God used us and was always preparing us for the next phase of LIFE!  May God Bless You in Your walk in this LIFE!!!!!
