Lauren participated in Mount Paran North’s Performing Arts Camp, Monday, June 22-26. Lauren really enjoyed the camp. The performance on Friday night was awesome. Lauren sang a solo and did a western dance. She loves to be in the spotlight. One evening Lauren wanted to talk to me and wanted to know if she had breast cancer. Kirk told me after I shared with him what she said that on the way to camp they heard on the radio about a 7 year old kid that had cancer and her wish was to see the movie “UP” so she got to see the movie and died a few days after. Lauren looked at Kirk and said “Well that’s a sad story to start out the morning.” She was then worried she might have breast cancer after hearing this and knowing that I had breast cancer. I knew that I telling her would not put her mind at ease so I told her I would make a doctor’s appointment for her. Everything was fine and the doctor told Lauren she was just maturing. Bradley did not want to be a part of the camp so he and I spent the week just hanging out together. It was a week needed for both of us. I did not plan anything special but it was so nice just to hang out with him…it was the loving Brad I know!

Once again we used Lauren’s favorite verse to help her overcome her fear!
