Power of Prayer August 15, 2009

I finished the book “Power of a Praying Wife”.  I have started reading “Power of a Praying Parent”.  I recommend this book if you have not read it and even if you have…read it again.  Prayer is very important and it does change things.  “Power of a Praying Wife” helped me understand how important our spouse needs our prayers every day.  It is amazing how God answered and went before Kirk in so many situations when I began to cover him in prayer every day.  Many things he does not even know about and some things I did share with him.

A few weeks before school began I began to read “Power of a Praying Parent” it helped me in how to pray for my children and the topics in this book are:  becoming a praying parent, releasing my child to God’s hands, securing protection from harm, feeling love and accepted, establishing an eternal future, honoring parents and resisting rebellion, family relationships, attracting Godly friends and role models, developing a hunger for the things of God, being the person God created, following truth and rejecting lies, enjoying a life of health and healing, having the motivation and proper body care, instilling the desire to learn, identifying God given gifts and talents, learning to speak life, staying attracted to holiness and purity, praying through a child’s room, enjoying freedom from fear, receiving a sound mind, inviting the joy of the Lord, destroying an heritage of family bondage, avoiding alcohol, drugs and other addictions, rejecting sexual immorality, finding the perfect mate, living free of unforgiveness, walking in repentance, breaking down ungodly strongholds, seeking Godly wisdom and discernment, growing in faith, praying for your adult children.

I bought the book and the journal.  I use the journal as my devotion time each day and only read a chapter a day with the verse and prayer.  Then, I journal about my family and other prayer needs.  The reason I do this is so I can look back and read what I prayed and my concerns and see how far God has brought us through those difficult times.  It is amazing how the pieces of the puzzle are put together not so much in our time but God’s time, His perfect timing.  He has the world in the palm of His hand!!!

James 5:16 (New International Version)
16Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

If you are new to my blog please go back to the beginning to understand each day of my blog.  It begins when Kirk and I were married and tells each move and how God used us and was always preparing us for the next phase of LIFE!  May God Bless You in Your walk in this LIFE!!!!!
