The Fears of LIFE March 22, 2009

I knew this could not be good news if they were working me in after hours. The nurse informed me that Dr. Corgan could see me in her office.

Kirk and the kids were with me because we had only been in Atlanta for a couple of months and did not have a regular babysitter. We went across the hall and Dr. Corgan showed us the x-ray. The nice reception lady kept an eye on the kids in the waiting room. The doctor performed an ultrasound on the suspicious spot (I really thought ultrasound testing was just for pregnancy). Dr. Corgan was concerned with the ultrasound results and decided we needed to do a biopsy. I didn’t have a clue what this meant. She explained to me that a biopsy is the removal of a sample of tissue from the body for examination. The tissue was examined under a microscope to assist in diagnosis. We left the doctor’s office that day with a biopsy appointment, troubled minds, and lots of unanswered questions.

1 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.  2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,  3 though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. Selah Psalm 46:1-3

The fears of LIFE.
