While we were in Mississippi my doctor stressed the importance of breast self examination. She spent a lot of time at my last visit with her sharing just how important it was. From that day on I took it very seriously.
During the busyness of Missions Festival 2006 I discovered something unusual during one of those self examinations. I did not mention this to Kirk because he was very, very busy with all the new stuff. I did not want to worry him with this because I was not really sure. After Missions Festival I made a doctor’s appointment in March 2006.
I called a friend of mine, who was a breast surgeon and had once practiced in Atlanta. She actually attended the church we pastored in Mississippi. She referred me to a wonderful doctor whom she had great trust in. It was a God thing because she actually practiced in the same office with her. My friend told me I was in excellent hands. God was truly in control of every detail of this experience.
For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield. Psalm 5:12
The goodness of LIFE.
