So I went to work at the mall and made some friends at that store and the store next door I met a couple of girls in their early twenties and one of them was named Angel. We just sort of struck up a friendship and one day Angel asked me a hypothetical question. She said, “you’re a Christian right?” I said, “Yeah.” “Do you believe that God could forgive a person for an abortion?”, she asked. I said, “yes, I believe that God can forgive that, if that person was truly sorrowful and asked God to forgive them and chose to follow Him—God can forgive that.” Angel continued, “Well I have a friend and this friend is contemplating an abortion. Will God forgive her afterwards”? Now seminaries don’t even prepare and teach you this stuff. Now you’re into muddy theological waters because the question is about the willingness of God to forgive sins if I willfully do the act. I just stopped for a minute and prayed asking the Lord what I should say. I told her, “I can’t sit in God’s seat of judgment but I can tell you that God loves your friend and God loves that baby and I am going to pray that your friend makes the right decision.”
